Bangkok, Thailand – Aviagen® regularly engages with industry leaders, experts, and colleagues through strategic forums that foster collaboration and share fresh perspectives on the evolving poultry landscape. The recent Aviagen Asia Pacific Leaders Forum in Bangkok (May 12–15, 2025) exemplified this commitment by bringing together a diverse range of voices, topics, and expertise to guide the industry’s sustainable future.
This event was the region’s first event of its kind, inviting poultry leaders to an exclusive three-day program, where seventeen world-class speakers engaged with the audience — recognizing Asia’s ongoing role as the driver of global poultry growth while also highlighting the challenges and uncertainties ahead.
As markets become increasingly volatile, with changing geopolitics, generational changes, legal or social requirements and evolving technology, it is important for business owners to understand what impacts that this could have on them and how to leverage these to ensure ongoing financial success. The agenda highlighted a number of these topics, including the use of solar power as a potential income stream, the requirements of today's workforce and the potential for cultured meat to become a complement to traditionally produced protein.
Sustainability emerged as a recurring theme, with Aviagen’s commitment to “balanced breeding” core to the health, welfare and performance of the flocks in Asia. The audience learned about the value of pairing this potential with investments throughout the production chain to optimize their returns and ensure that broilers continue to be the most sustainable farmed animals.
Aviagen CEO Jan Henriksen acknowledged that while Asia’s growth story is clear, the region must also navigate significant challenges to the global industry. Dr. Rafael Monleon, Business Manager for Aviagen Asia Pacific, added, “We targeted this event as a business development meeting, rather than a bird-management focused one, and the results speak for themselves. The forum underscored how collaboration and shared expertise are essential in this dynamic market.”
Beyond the rich agenda, attendees welcomed the chance to connect and share ideas in an environment that balanced learning with the vibrant hospitality and culture of Bangkok.
