EDINBURGH, Scotland. – Four farms from Jata Emona in Slovenia have earned a place in the prestigious Ross® 150 Club, a recognition reserved for breeder growers who reach the exceptional milestone of producing 150 or more chicks per hen housed with their Ross 308 parent stock flocks.

For flocks completed in 2024, the farms achieved outstanding results of 164.8, 160.1, 158.4, and 157.7 chicks per hen housed at Ross farms 104, 101, 103, and 102, respectively. These results are a testament to their dedication, careful flock management, and commitment to continuous improvement in health, welfare and sustainability.

The awards were presented at a ceremony on Sept. 22 in Ljubljana, where Aviagen Kft Regional Technical Manager Dejan Bosanac and Sales Manager Krisztina Németh celebrated the accomplishment with Jata Emona representatives.

“Our birds’ ever-improving potential, together with the good management practices and dedication of the entire Jata Emona production team, has once again been recognized with exceptional results and this award,” said Dejan. “The Ross 308 continues to set the standard in balanced breeding, delivering strong performance while advancing positive welfare outcomes – ensuring optimal bird health, robustness, and sustainability across the supply chain.”

Barbara Kolenko, Broiler Breeder Manager from Jata Emona added, “At 164.8 chicks per hen housed, we’ve achieved our best result so far. This reflects the health of our flocks, the quality of our farms and equipment, the long experience of our farm and hatchery managers, and the dedication of our poultry farmers and hatchery workers, who know that every egg and every chick counts. We also thank the Aviagen team, whose recognition motivates us to aim even higher.”
