In 2021, Aviagen announced its expansion into Argentina, and Aviagen Argentina has now begun production of Ross® 308 AP Parent Stock (PS). The subsidiary has the capacity to produce a substantial 2.5 million PS annually. Located in San Juan, Aviagen Argentina includes a grandparent (GP) farm and PS hatchery. Its mission is to provide the domestic market with robust, healthy Ross broiler breeders, while working alongside customers to overcome their daily challenges and champion their success. Unlike other operations that typically have close ties to local production integrations, Aviagen Argentina operates independently.

Aviagen Latin America President Ivan Lauandos emphasized the strategic importance of Argentina as a key market for Aviagen. Argentina boasts a robust poultry sector that plays a vital role in the country’s agriculture and economy. Fueled by a growing demand for healthy chicken meat, the Argentina poultry industry has experienced steady growth.

Lauandos remarked, “Aviagen is deeply committed to the people and poultry growers in Argentina, and our presence will help ensure the supply of a safe, nutritious and sustainable chicken meat to the citizens of this great country.”

Luis Mac Goey, General Manager of Aviagen Argentina, highlighted the opportunity this expansion brings to strengthen Aviagen’s local touch. He commented, “Aviagen’s strategic approach has always been to position our operations in close proximity to our customers. This enables us to work side by side with them to champion their success. We understand that knowledge and expertise are key to this success, so we seize every opportunity to share the latest innovations and developments to help them continually improve the performance, health, welfare and efficiency of their Ross 308 AP birds.”

With the introduction of Aviagen's operations in Argentina, the company reaffirms its commitment to supporting the poultry industry in the region and furthering its mission of "Breeding Success Together" with its valued customers.
