Traveling seminars brought practical poultry knowledge directly to customers in Central America
CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® continued its Knowledge Without Borders journey through Latin America this semester, bringing the customer-focused seminars to Honduras in July and Costa Rica in August.
Approximately 60 people attended each day, creating opportunities for customers to spend time with specialists from Aviagen and industry colleagues Plasson and Interagro, ask questions, exchange experiences and explore practical ideas they could take back to their operations. Specialists brought different areas of expertise to the seminars.
The series began in Honduras with a two-day event for CMI in Siguatepeque July 20–21, followed by a multi-customer event in San Pedro Sula July 23. The Aviagen, Plasson and Interagro teams then moved on to Alajuela, Costa Rica, with dedicated CMI activities Aug. 24–27 and a multi-customer seminar Aug. 28.

Bringing knowledge where customers need it
While each event was different, the approach remained the same: understand what matters to customers and build the program around those needs.
In Honduras, discussions covered breeder management, flock uniformity, fertility, egg quality, automatic nest management, water quality and genetics, along with analysis of customer flock data.
The Costa Rica program broadened to the broiler side of the poultry cycle, covering first-week management, ventilation and cooling, litter management, equipment maintenance, pre-slaughter management, metabolic resilience and analysis of broiler flock data. The Aug. 28 multi-customer seminar also addressed breeder management and fertility.
“Knowledge Without Borders gives us the opportunity to bring learning closer to our customers and focus on the subjects that are most useful to them,” commented Rodrigo Cisoto, head of Technical Services Manager for Aviagen CAME region (Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean). “Every customer and every operation is different. By listening first, we can share knowledge they can put into practice in their day-to-day work.”

Learning that continues beyond the seminar
Aviagen specialists were joined by speakers from other poultry companies, bringing different areas of expertise to the seminars. Just as important was the knowledge customers brought with them, creating an environment where questions and experiences could be openly shared.
“Our customers throughout Central America are extremely important to us, and we want the value of these events to continue long after the seminar ends,” added Cisoto. “When someone leaves with an idea they can apply to improve flock health and welfare, management or efficiency, that is when the learning makes a meaningful difference.”

Learning without borders
Launched in 2024, Knowledge Without Borders continues to reach poultry producers throughout Latin America, bringing people together to care for birds, strengthen sustainable poultry production and help provide nutritious chicken to communities throughout the region.
“Knowledge should never have borders,” said Fábio Carnevale, Marketing Manager, Aviagen Latin America. “By staying close to our customers and sharing what we know with one another, we can keep learning and improving together. That is what Breeding Success Together means to us.”
