Three-day event combines farm visits, data analysis and hands-on learning to strengthen breeder rearing and production management

CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® and Granja Econômica recently came together for a three-day Aviagen In-Company Connection designed to help the customer get the most from its Ross® 308 AP broiler breeders. Through site visits, production data analysis and hands-on learning, the program connected science-based knowledge with everyday flock decisions.

On-farm learning drives continuous improvement

Visits to Granja Econômica's breeder rearing and production facilities gave participants firsthand insight into routine operations. Together, the teams collected and analyzed flock data in real time.

By evaluating flock performance, health and welfare and discussing routine decisions, both teams translated field observations into actions that can support future Granja Econômica production cycles.

Strengthening breeder male management

Alongside the on-farm assessments, in-depth sessions focused on the characteristics of well-developed males and strategies that support fertility. Interactive group activities helped participants connect the science to everyday decision-making in their own operations.

Mauro Piotto, Aviagen Regional Technical Services Supervisor, emphasized the importance of careful breeder male evaluation. “Managing breeder males requires close attention to both their physical characteristics and behavior,” said Piotto. “The exercises sharpened observation skills and highlighted factors that have the greatest influence on strong poultry flock results.”

The three-day program concluded with an open exchange of ideas and next steps to support Granja Econômica in further strengthening its breeder management program, reflecting Aviagen's commitment to Breeding Customer Success.

Focusing on customer needs

No two poultry operations are exactly alike. That's why every Aviagen In-Company Connection is tailored to each customer's facilities, management practices and production goals.

“By combining the genetic potential of our birds with what we learn on the ground, we can identify practical opportunities and work together on solutions that support each customer's goals,” said Rodrigo Tedesco, Aviagen Technical Services Manager for Brazil. “Open discussions about management decisions and their impact on flock results help strengthen flock health and welfare, sustainability and productivity."
