Attendees at El Salvador’s XXI National Poultry Congress

Incubation Specialist Guillermo Reyes highlights practical approaches to support chick quality, welfare and performance

CAMPINAS, Brazil – Aviagen® Latin America recently connected with customers and poultry leaders at El Salvador’s XXI National Poultry Congress, held Feb. 26-27, 2026. Organized by the Technical Association of El Salvador (ATAES), with the support of the AVES Poultry Association, the two-day event brought together producers and suppliers to share practical innovation and sound management. These discussions focused on strengthening poultry health and welfare while supporting productivity and a dependable supply of high-quality protein.

Strengthening the poultry sector through collaboration

Aviagen welcomed the opportunity to engage directly with producers. Incubation Specialist Eng. Guillermo Reyes delivered a presentation titled “Egg Management: Perspectives,” sharing practical guidance on egg handling and incubation practices that help protect embryo development, improve hatchability, and enhance chick quality.

Sound egg management plays a critical role in poultry welfare from the very beginning of life. By supporting strong starts in the hatchery, producers can help build more uniform, resilient flocks – benefiting both performance and long-term sustainability.

In addition to contributing to the speaker program, Aviagen sponsored the event’s Executive Lunch, supporting the event and helping foster professional learning among poultry industry participants.

“A strong poultry sector is built on shared experience and continuous learning,” said Rodrigo Cisoto, head of Technical Services for Aviagen in Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. “We thank ATAES and AVES for creating this opportunity for Breeding Success Together with the Latin American poultry industry – working alongside customers and colleagues to support bird welfare, sustainable growth and a dependable food supply for communities across the region.”
