Building on nearly three decades of poultry industry progress

CAMPINAS, Brazil – The Northeast Food Company (Companhia de Alimentos do Nordeste), known as Cialne, celebrated 60 years of serving the Brazilian poultry industry during a recent event in Fortaleza, Ceará, bringing together employees, customers and industry representatives.

As part of the celebration, Aviagen® Latin America President Ivan Pupo Lauandos presented Cialne with a commemorative plaque recognizing the company's six decades of contributions to poultry production in Brazil and the strong connection the two companies have shared since 1998.

Historic journey marked by success and growth

Founded in Brazil in 1966 by Francisco de Araújo Carneiro (Dico Carneiro), Cialne began working with Aviagen in 1998, when it became a Ross® parent stock distributor for Northeastern Brazil. Since then, the two companies have worked together to supply poultry breeding stock to the region, supporting poultry producers and the continued development of the regional industry.

Reflecting on the milestone, Cialne CEO Ivan Peruzzo said the anniversary marks six decades of Cialne's role in advancing poultry production in Northeastern Brazil.

"Cialne's 60th anniversary represents six decades of hard work and commitment to advancing poultry production and food security in Northeastern Brazil. Throughout this journey, we have grown alongside the industry while continually investing in genetics, innovation, production and people. Cialne's history is closely tied to the evolution of poultry production in the region," he said.

For Aviagen, the celebration also recognizes a company that has contributed to the growth of Brazil's poultry industry. "Since we began working with Dico Carneiro and Dico Neto in 1998, our companies have built a lasting connection grounded in trust, dedication to the poultry value chain and investment in the future. The close ties between our customer support teams have been essential to efficiency and quality. We are proud to be part of Cialne's story and to support its continued success in the years ahead," said Lauandos.

Looking to the future

According to Peruzzo, Cialne's future plans focus on expanding its operations and strengthening the poultry value chain. "We will continue investing in genetics, innovation, sustainability, our people and production expansion. Our goal is to grow consistently and responsibly while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency and creating value for our customers, employees, integrated growers and stakeholders," he said.

Peruzzo also emphasized the importance of Cialne's long-standing collaboration with Aviagen. "We are proud that Aviagen has been part of Cialne's progress and has contributed to the results we have achieved over the years. We share values such as innovation, operational excellence, a focus on results and a long-term vision," he concluded.

The companies look forward to continuing to support poultry producers across Northeastern Brazil. Through Breeding Success Together, they remain committed to helping provide healthy, nutritious chicken to families across Brazil and beyond.
