Xavier has been a Poultry Nutritionist at Aviagen since 2020. Xavier graduated from the Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain, in Veterinary Studies, where he specialised in Animal Production. He also undertook an MSc in Poultry Production in France and a PhD in Veterinary Animal and Food Science at the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona. Xavier’s previous roles have included Veterinary Technical Manager at Miqual Aicola SA, Crusvi SA, and Aviagen SAU in Spain, and for a period of time Associated Teacher at the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona. Xavier’s field of expertise includes Grandparent, Broiler, and Breeder Stock and working with customers.
Our hatchery specialists are dedicated to ensuring your birds get the best-possible start in life. They’ll visit your hatchery to assess every step, from egg intake to chick output. Your feedback is important to us, and we’re always looking for ways to help you improve your hatchery operations and enhance the overall quality of chicks delivered to broiler farms.

Guo Jun graduated with a degree in Animal Husbandry from Nanjing Agricultural University, PRC, in 1987. After graduation, he worked for three years in the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture, followed by three years as hatchery operations manager for the National Poultry Breeding Company. He started a long association with Aviagen in 1994, when he accepted the position of breeder operations manager with Beijing Arbor Acres® Poultry Breeding Company. He moved to a technical services role in 1997 and he gained a promotion to manage the team in 2005. During this time Guo Jun focused increasingly on hatchery management. In 2008, Guo Jun started to work as part of the Asian team, helping customers across the region with specialist hatchery support. He represented the Asian team on the Aviagen Hatchery Support Working Group from its start in 2009.
In 2012, Guo Jun joined the Global Incubation Services Team, helping the Aviagen service teams with specialist hatchery support in Europe.
This support can include farm visits, lab work, or remote consultations, depending on your needs. Our veterinary specialists also share insights from these visits with our R&D team to help us keep developing strong, healthy birds.

Valerie joined Aviagen in 2022 as one of the veterinarians of the Global Veterinary Team in which she helps customers located in Western Europe continually improve the health and welfare of their Aviagen broiler breeders. She also has a great interest in everything that is going on in the hatcheries and can therefore often be found in one of the European Parent Stock hatcheries.
She is based in Belgium where she also has earned a Master in Veterinary Medicine (Industrial farming) in 2010 at the University of Ghent.
Before, Valerie was working for Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) Animal Health as Technical Service Manager Avian; she supported customers and markets throughout Benelux, as well as Cyprus, Greece, Portugal and the Nordic countries.
David joined Aviagen in 2023. He has a degree of Master of Science in Veterinary Medicine from The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. Before joining Aviagen, he worked for six years as an Official Veterinarian for the Swedish Food Agency. Initially working with small scale livestock before moving towards manning broiler processing plants, his focus was mainly animal welfare and food safety. He is now the veterinarian responsible for the Grandparent stock of the Ross 308 and Rustic Gold birds raised on the Aviagen Sweden (SweChick) farms, the SweChick Parent Stock hatchery and also enjoys working closely with customers and customer veterinarians to ensure the health and welfare of the Parent stock birds.
